Natural/All Natural: This is beef that contains no artificial ingredients or added colors and was processed in a manner that does not fundamentally alter the product. Based on this definition, pretty much all meat is “natural.”

Organic: In addition to no added hormones or antibiotics, these cows eat organic feed only.

Grass Fed: The cows eat some grass or hay during their lives. situations.

Grass Finished or 100% Grass Fed: The cows eat only grass or hay throughout their lives, never living in a feedlot situation.

Raised Without Antibiotics/Hormones: The cows never received antibiotics or growth-promoting hormones. Unlike chickens and pigs, it is legal to give hormones to beef cattle.

Certified Humane/Animal Welfare Approved: Indicates the pigs were raised according to specific Humane Farm Animal Care Standards. These standards apply to the rearing, handling, transport, and slaughter of pigs and are subject to third party inspection.
